Configuring Regional Package Mirrors for Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa

Before switching to a regional mirror, verify your system's distribution codename to ensure repository compatibility:
lsb_release -cs
For Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, this returns focal. Repository configurations must reference this specific codename—substituting incorrect release names will cause dependency resolution failures.
Backup Current Configuration
Preserve the original package source list:
sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list{,.orig}

Replace the contents of /etc/apt/sources.list with the folowing entries:
